This week’s winter storm caused a power outage at the Taylorville Correctional Center, but officials say the inmates were never in danger.

Taylorville Warden George Good bought kerosene heating units in Springfield and used his own vehicle to take them from Springfield to Taylorville. The temperature in all units across the jail never fell below 63 degrees.

As of Monday afternoon the electric problems have been solved.
