Springfield School Board members overwhelmingly supported the choice of John Philbrun as Coordinator of Security and Safety for the district.

Philbrun retired from the Springfield Police Department after more than 25 years, many of them patrolling the same hallways he will now oversee.  He says he has no major plans in mind yet.

“I looking forward to kind of figure out what is going on and then I’m hitting the ground running and we will go from there” Philbrun says.

Superintendent Jennifer Gill says Philbrun was a natural choice and will be able to use his contacts in law enforcement to help maintain a safe environment for staff and students.
