Several hundred people from around the country again descended on tiny village of Bath Illinois for the annual “Redneck Fishing Tournament” this past weekend.

Tourney veteran John Knapp says he is trying to do his part in protecting the river from the Asian Carp.

“We are just trying to do our part in getting rid of the invasive fish that are keeping our fish to getting to vegetation,” Knapp says. “I come down every year from Kappa (IL).”

Much of the captured carp was given to a local fertilizer company but several chefs were on hand to give out cooked samples.
