Police Seek 4-5 Young Men in Series of North End Crimes

Police need help catching nearly half a dozen kids who they say could be responsible for armed robberies, burglaries and thefts on Springfield’s north end between the beginning of May and the end of June.

Sangamon and Menard County Crimestoppers wants information on four to five black males between 15 and 18 years old, about 5’8″ weighing 150 pounds. Police say the incidents took place in an area bounded by 1st and 9th streets to the west and east, North Grand and Carpenter to the north and south.

Anyone with anonymous information could be eligible for a $1,000 reward. Call Sangamon and Menard County Crimestoppers at 788-8427, head online or text message tips. Type TIP 672 plus a message and send to CRIMES.
