Police Investigate Shooting at 15th and Phillips

Springfield police are again investigating shootings on the east side.

Lt. Dyle Stokes says officers were called to 15th and Phillips Thursday afternoon around 1:20 p.m. for a report of multiple gunshots. Police found shell casings in the area, they also found shell casings on 16th street between Mason and Madison.

Witnesses reported seeing a suspicious white car and suspicious red car in the area, but it’s unclear if they were shooting at each other. Police are also investigating whether these shootings are related to other incidents over the past couple of weeks.
