More Shootings on Springfield’s East Side

A Springfield man has been arrested and charged in connection with two shootings on the city’s east side Tuesday night.

The first incident happened near 14th and Ash Street around 7:45pm.  Police found a victim a couple of blocks away with a gunshot wound to his leg.  He described the shooter as someone in a dark colored SUV.

A short time afterward, another shooting took place near 13th and Stevenson and gave the same vehicle description.  Police were able to stop the vehicle at 13th and Knox and arrested Raymond L. Crews, 30, of Springfield.

Police have not yet said whether these shootings are connected to other incidents in the same vicinity.
