Political newcomer Landon Laubhan is shaking up the Republican primary in the 96th legislative district.
He’ll take on Mike Bell in the March primary for a chance to face Democrat Sue Scherer in November. Laubhan says he’s tired of the establishment’s old, failed ideas and he’s not worried he’s not getting its support.
“It was above and them, it was above and beyond me,” said Laubhan in an interview with WTAX’s Joey McLaughlin on the Morning Newswatch. “It’s all about the people of the 96th district and having their voices heard, and providing all the options they can possibly have.”
Laubhan has lived in Springfield for nearly three years, spending most of his life in Oklahoma. He says voters shouldn’t hold that against him — as the state’s ongoing problems have nothing to do with where he was born.
