Kincaid Clerk Fired While Chief and Mayor Remain

When the dust settled in Kincaid Monday night, the only person out of a job was the city clerk, who reportedly shouted on her way out that village trustees could kiss her [rear end].

The SJ-R reports that was the outcome of a meeting in which clerk Cindy Orrison was fired and mayor Doug Thomas cast the tie-breaking vote not to fire police chief Richard Adams. The chief is accused of using village resources to fix up his own house.

The clerk was fired over allegedly trying to blow the whistle on a supposed open meetings violation.

The mayor is accused of violating a protective order and having drugs on him while he was booked into the jail.
