Three Charged, Connected to South Wirt Murder

Three people have been charged in connection with last week’s murder on south Wirt street in Springfield.

JASON UNDERWOODLeon Neal Jr., 29, and Jason Underwood, 28, both of Springfield, were already in jail for parole violations.

U.S. Marshals picked up Neal at Decatur Memorial Hospital Monday where he was being treated for injuries sustained during the crime. Underwood was arrested Thursday for a parole violation. Both have been charged with first degree murder.

SHANAE WILLIAMSShanae Williams, 21, of Springfield, has also been arrested, charged with obstruction of justice.
