ISF Trophy Named After Arenzville Native, Fair Enthusiast

The Illinois State Fair has renamed a trophy in honor of the late Wilbur “Webb” Parlier, a longtime volunteer and former Western Horse Show manager.

Parlier died in May at age 76. The fair announced a trophy in the American Saddlebred Western Pleasure division of the Society Horse Show has been renamed in his memory. State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick says Parlier was part of the fair for nearly 50 years. She says he “had a heart of gold” and “was a true cowboy.”

The Arenzville native competed in rodeos for a decade. He won numerous national and international Appaloosa horse titles and became a nationally known horse trainer and show manager.
