Illinois Manufacturers Association Endorses Rauner For Governor

The Illinois Manufacturers Association is upset that fracking has yet to begin in Illinois. That’s part of the reason the group is endorsing Republican Bruce Rauner for governor.

“Today, nearly 400 days after the law was signed, the current administration has refused to issue the final rules. They have all kinds of excises, but at the end of the day, they have failed to get the job done. It is simply not acceptable, and it demonstrates the need for a change in leadership,” Manufacturers Association President Greg Baise said as he announced the group’s endorsement of Rauner for governor.

Fracking is not the only factor leading to the Rauner endorsement, as these business owners and Rauner are allied in wishing to have less civil liability and less government oversight and to pay less to injured workers, as well their disenchantment with as a “hostile business environment and a tax-and-spend policy that crushes investment in our state,” Baise said.

Baise says 90 percent of his members are for Rauner. The Oak Brook-based association has 4,000 member companies.
