The maiden voyage of the “running mates” format in Illinois primaries is not going smoothly.

Tio Hardiman and Brunell Donald are candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, respectively, in the Democratic primary. But challenges to their petitions would disqualify Donald, under a recommendation the Illinois State Board of Elections will consider Thursday. Apparently, she moved but did not update her address on her voter registration.

What happens to the ticket if Donald is kicked off?

“That is a very good question,” says the election board’s executive director Rupert Borgsmiller. “There are not any answers at this point in time. There’s no court case law on what would be the outcome if one or the other was removed.”

Borgsmiller expects the losing side of the board’s decision to ask for judicial review.

REVIEW: ‘How To Be Single’ feels the same while trying too hard to be different

22-overlay-9

"How to Be Single" makes a valiant attempt to send up rom-com clichés but it borrows so much from other, better movies that you start to wonder if the film’s title should be "How to Commit Larceny."
