Was he stabbed or did he run into a sharp object?

That’s the question Springfield Police are trying to figure out in the case of 23 year old DeMarco Locust. Locust showed up at St. John’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries from a sharp object. He told police he was moving furniture at a girlfriend’s house and backed into a sharp object.

St. John’s staff said the wound was consistent with a stabbing.

The man who took him to the hospital told a different story — he said Locust’s girlfriend “poked” him, but couldn’t say which girlfriend or where she lived. Locust also doesn’t know her address.
