Irish rock legends U2 are returning to Island Records, the company that discovered them more than 30 years ago.

The “Beautiful Day” hitmakers exited the label seven years ago, but will now return for the release of the band’s upcoming 13th studio album in 2014.

U2 had long been associated with Island, which was also home to artists such as Bob Marley, Tom Waits and Grace Jones, but decided to leave when their good friend and label boss Jason Iley was moved to sister company Mercury Records, and the band followed suit.

Earlier this year, executives at parent company Universal decided to shut down Mercury Records, which left the fate of U2 up in the air, but now a source confirms to the U.K.’s The Guardian newspaper that U2 will be heading back to “their spiritual home” at Island.

U2, led by frontman Bono, last released an album in 2009 with “No Line on the Horizon,” and their new record is expected to hit shelves in March.
