LONDON (AP) — Bats are finally getting their revenge on Ozzy Osbourne.

The BBC reports Osbourne wants to turn a barn on his English estate into a two-bedroom home, but the local council has refused him permission because there’s evidence that bats and owls live there. Bats are a protected species in England.

Osbourne bit the head off a bat thrown onstage in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1982, thinking it was made out of rubber.

Osbourne will not be able to continue work until an environmental survey is done.

An Osbourne spokesman says it’s a “private matter.”

Since Independence Day falls during the work week, members of St. Richard Catholic Church celebrated the holiday on Sunday, June 30, 2013, with a picnic-style outing complete with fireworks that could be seen throughout the northeast Jackson, Miss. neighborhood.
