It’s always interesting to hear the stories about how bands get their name. Jim Morrison named his band – The Doors – after the title of a 1950s essay called “The Doors of Perception” by Aldous Huxley.  That essay was based on the writing of what 18th century poet — who wrote “When the doors of perception are cleansed, man will see things as they truly are, infinite.”
